Accounting Lead

You’ll be joining a collaborative and engaged team of 130+ people based in our Melbourne HQ - think onsite badminton courts, weekly fitness classes, end‑of‑trip facilities and sweeping 26th‑floor views.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the end‑to‑end General Ledger across all entities, ensuring accurate, complete and timely financial records
- Lead the monthly close process, including journals, reconciliations, reviews and balance sheet integrity
- Prepare and oversee annual statutory financial statements and group consolidations
- Own and operate the IFRS 9 loss reserve model, including assumptions, outputs and documentation
- Act as a technical accounting lead, providing guidance on accounting treatments and standards
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and maintain strong financial controls and audit‑ready documentation
- Lead the external audit process end‑to‑end and act as the primary point of contact for auditors
- Partner with FP&A on cash flow forecasting, analysis and reporting, providing commercial accounting insight
- Lead, coach and develop the accounting team, driving capability, accountability and continuous improvement
- Collaborate closely with Finance and wider business stakeholders to support initiatives, system changes and finance transformation
About You
You’re a technically strong accounting leader with a CPA or CA qualification and solid post-qualification experience across financial accounting, reporting and close management in complex, multi-entity environments. You bring deep knowledge of accounting standards, statutory reporting and consolidations, and apply sound judgement with a commercial mindset.
You’re confident owning month-end, maintaining balance sheet integrity, and partnering with auditors and senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality, audit-ready outcomes. Curious and detail-oriented, you like to understand end-to-end processes and proactively identify risks and improvements.
You also enjoy leading and developing people. Collaborative and approachable, you build strong relationships across Finance and the wider business and are motivated by lifting team capability, strengthening controls, and driving continuous improvement.
