You’ll be joining a collaborative and engaged team of 130+ people based in our Melbourne HQ - think onsite badminton courts, weekly fitness classes, end of trip facilities and sweeping 26th floor views.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing inbound and outbound calls related to dishonoured payments, arrears, payment arrangements and hardship enquiries
• Proactively managing a portfolio of loans in arrears and keeping delinquency to a minimum
• Working with customers to understand their circumstances and negotiate practical, mutually beneficial repayment solutions
• Identifying hardship cues and recommending appropriate support and solutions for each customer
• Minimising lending losses through effective collections and recovery activity
• Recovering funds on accounts that have been written off
• Liaising with external stakeholders such as valuers, conveyancers and solicitors as required
• Identifying and mitigating risk, and escalating issues or concerns to the business when needed
• Ensuring all activity aligns with legislative and compliance requirements

 

About You

You bring solid experience working in mortgage or loan collections, with a strong understanding of both residential and commercial lending environments. You’re confident handling difficult conversations, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and understand the importance of complying with regulatory requirements such as the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, Privacy Act and Debt Collection Guidelines.

 

Just as importantly, you’re customer‑focused and empathetic, with the ability to identify hardship cues and work collaboratively with customers to find practical solutions. You’re comfortable negotiating outcomes, managing risk, and escalating issues where needed, and you take pride in helping minimise losses while doing the right thing by customers. Experience with Salesforce and commercial property collections will be highly regarded.
