You’ll be joining a collaborative and engaged team of 130+ people based in our Melbourne HQ - think onsite badminton courts, weekly fitness classes, end‑of‑trip facilities and sweeping 26th‑floor views.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assess and make credit decisions residential and commercial mortgage applications - could include SMSF mortgage applications too
  • Perform searches and verify information in line with company guidelines
  • Adhere to internal lending policy and industry regulations
  • Use credit risk analysis skills to determine outcome
  • Great communication skills to build strong relationships with third party introducers and ensure that service levels are met
  • Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g. valuers, solicitors) as required
  • Own and manage pipeline effectively
  • Assess and decision complex residential and commercial mortgage applications which may require a higher delegated lending authority
  • Develop and manage relationships with RedZed Direct. Assisting them generate new business and maintain a productive relationship with Credit by handling any escalated matters
  • Ensure product selection meets guidelines.

 

About You

You are an experienced Credit Assessor with a strong background in specialist mortgage lending and a proven ability to exercise delegated lending authority with confidence and accuracy. With over three years’ experience in manual credit assessment, you bring deep technical knowledge across both residential and commercial lending, ideally including exposure to SMSF structures.

 

You have a comprehensive understanding of the end‑to‑end mortgage process and are comfortable assessing complex lending scenarios while balancing commercial outcomes with responsible lending obligations. Your current approval authority (such as DLA, DCA or CAD) reflects your sound judgement, attention to detail, and strong risk awareness within the financial services environment.

 

Your decision‑making is underpinned by a solid understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including the National Credit Code Protection Act, Privacy Act, and AML/CTF legislation. Ideally, you hold a Bachelor‑level qualification in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, with additional industry certifications such as a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking or Credit Management considered advantageous.
